God Still Gives the Holy Spirit to the Places Where the Festival of Tabernacles Is Celebrated Those who believe in God must keep the Festival of Tabernacles according to God’s teachings. This is because God said through the prophet Zechariah that He would give the Holy Spirit to those who keep the Festival of Tabernacles and bring punishment upon those who do not. The Church of God Keeps the Festival of Tabernacles, and Is with the Spirit and the Bride, Who Give the Water of Life At His first coming, Jesus gave the Holy Spirit; at His second coming, the Spirit and the Bride give the Holy Spirit on the Festival of Tabernacles. The Bible’s prophecies, “The Spirit and the Bride give the water of life,” “Living water will flow out from Jerusalem,” and “The river of the water of life flows from the throne of God” foretell that Jerusalem Heavenly Mother will give the Holy Spirit and the teachings that lead to life. But when the Jewish Festival of Tabernacles was near, . . . On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, . . . “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. . . . John 7:2–39 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life. This World Is a Spiritual Refuge for Angels Who Sinned in Heaven Every person born on this earth, like Solomon and Job, was once an angel who lived in the kingdom of heaven. The Festival of Trumpets Urges Mankind to Repent Both in the Old Testament and in the New Testament God appointed the first day of the seventh month of the sacred calendar as the Festival of Trumpets so that we would remember the Day of Atonement, commemorating the time when He forgave the sins of the Israelites who had fallen into idolatry and granted them the second set of the Ten Commandments. Moreover, just as trumpets were sounded on the Festival of Trumpets to call for repentance, Jesus also came to this earth and urged mankind to repent, saying, “Repent.” Repentance Is Regretting One’s Past Sins and Returning to God As we can see in the Parable of the Prodigal Son and in the account of Jonah leading 120,000 people in Nineveh to salvation, great blessings from God are always prepared, following the work of repentance. Today as well, we must achieve complete repentance—like Jonah—for the eyes and hearts we have turned toward the world, and sound the trumpet, calling the whole world to return to Christ Ahnsahnghong and God the Mother. “Say to the Israelites: ‘On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of sabbath rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts.’ ” Leviticus 23:24 “Therefore, you Israelites, I will judge each of you according to your own ways, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.” Ezekiel 18:30
