Ahnsahnghong the Christ who came a second time, was baptized at the age of thirty in 1948 and began His life of the gospel to shine the light of the truth, according to the prophecy of King David.
He came to this earth as a man to save humankind, and lived a life full of pain and suffering, not glory and honor.
As He was born in 1918, He had to go through the era of exploitation and oppression during the Japanese occupation. When Christ Ahnsahnghong began His ministry, the Republic of Korea was spiritually in a barren and devastating circumstances. Physically, too, the environment was very poor. At that time, the Republic of Korea, which had just been liberated from Japanese imperialism, was degraded to the poorest country in the world after the Korean War that broke out in 1950, and all the people had to go through severe hardships of life.
Just as Christ Jesus did 2,000 years ago, Christ Ahnsahnghong kept the law of life and preached the gospel, doing all hard jobs, although He was despised and humiliated.
In those days when many people found it hard to make a living and were hungry, Christ Ahnsahnghong had to do masonry work that people avoided, in order to set an example of keeping God’s commandments including the Sabbath Day. This hard labor caused Him to have calluses the size of the back of a hand on His neck.
He used the wage earned by that hard work for preaching expense and for writing the books that would reveal the truth of life. So He often satisfied His hunger with barley porridge or skipped meals. After such a hard day labor, He wrote the books for all humankind’s salvation all night through, and restored the truth of the New Covenant through numerous days of fasting and sacrifice.
Christ Ahnsahnghong prophesied about His death through the media four years before He finished His human life on the earth, and entrusted the church to His disciples.
The World Mission Society Church of God keeps the truth of the New Covenant and preaches the news of salvation to 7.8 billion people around the world, following the example of Christ Ahnsahnghong.
