The World Mission Society Church of God believes in Ahnsahnghong the Christ who came a second time according to the prophecies of the Bible.
When the disciples asked Jesus about the sign of His second coming 2,000 years ago, He told them to learn the parable of the fig tree.
“Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door”Matthew 24:30–33
Through the parable of the fig tree, Jesus made known the time of His second coming.
Then, what does the fig tree represent in the Bible?
Since the Old Testament times, the fig tree represented Israel (Jeremiah 24:5).
In the New Testament times, Jesus, too, compared Israel to the fig tree in His teachings
(Mark 11:12–14, 20–21). In the history of Israel represented by the fig tree, there is a secret about the time of the second coming of Jesus.
“The fig twigs get tender and its leaves come out” means that the withered fig tree comes back to life. This signifies that Israel, which was destroyed, will be restored. Just as Jesus prophesied, Israel was destroyed by the Roman Empire in A.D. 70, and scattered around the world for about 1,900 years, living the life of a diaspora.
After World War II ended, Israel declared its independence and established a state in its former homeland Palestine. In other words, the fig tree revived as Jesus had prophesied.
Historians say that Israel’s independence is a miracle that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. However, it was not merely a historical event. It was a prophetic sign that proclaimed toward the whole world that Jesus came a second time as God had planned.
Just as the withered fig tree revived, Israel was rebuilt in 1948. In this year, Jesus was to come a second time and begin the gospel work after being baptized. He was also to restore the gospel of the New Covenant that He had established 2,000 years ago. Christ Ahnsahnghong is Jesus who came a second time to completely fulfill the prophecies of the Bible.
