Removal of Invasive Plants in Golden Harvest Park with ASEZ
દૃશ્ય સંખ્યા 18 વખત #પર્યાવરણ સંરક્ષણ #ASEZ CHURCH OF GOD SOUTH AFRICAASEZ, the university student volunteer group of the World Mission Society Church of God, gathered on 27 October 2024 at Golden Harvest Park in Johannesburg, South Africa, to remove invasive plants that threaten the local ecosystem.
Invasive plant species spread aggressively, compete with indigenous flora, and disturb the natural balance of parks, riversides, and green spaces. To help restore the environment, ASEZ volunteers worked together to cut, clear, and collect invasive vegetation throughout the park.
Although the work was physically demanding, the students encouraged one another with bright smiles and one united heart, creating meaningful change for both the environment and the local community.
This activity is part of ASEZ’s AGC (ASEZ Green Carbon) Movement, which promotes sustainable practices for climate change response, ecosystem restoration, and the protection of indigenous flora.
Through this volunteer activity, ASEZ students were reminded that protecting the Earth begins with small, practical actions carried out with sincerity and cooperation.
This activity supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, by helping protect public green spaces, improve the local environment, and contribute to safer, cleaner, and more sustainable urban communities.
