ASEZ WAO TREE PLANTING IN BETHELSDORP PORT ELIZABETH
ವೀಕ್ಷಣೆಗಳು 18 ಬಾರಿ #ಪರಿಸರ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆ #ASEZ WAO CHURCH OF GOD SOUTH AFRICAYoung volunteers from ASEZ WAO took part in a tree planting initiative in Bethelsdorp, Nelson Mandela Bay, on Sunday, the 10th of May 2026, as part of the organization's global “Mother's Forest” project aimed at addressing climate change.
25 volunteers planted 75 saplings during a 2-hour activity focused on expanding green spaces and promoting environmental sustainability. Volunteers spent the morning digging, planting saplings, covering them with soil and watering the trees.
The “Mother's Forest” project led by ASEZ WAO, the young adult worker volunteer group of the World Mission Society Church of God, encourages communities worldwide to respond to climate change through tree planting and the removal of invasive species.
According to ASEZ WAO, the initiative is inspired by “a mother's heart” that seeks to protect the earth and future generations.
“Protecting the environment begins with small actions such as planting a single tree,” an ASEZ WAO representative said.
The initiative received support from the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment and Nelson Mandela University, which provided saplings and encouraged the volunteers.
Ward 35 Councillor Noeleen Moodley praised the project, saying the trees would benefit residents particularly during summer when additional shade is needed in public spaces.
Municipal Horticulturalist Msimelelo Ngcaku also welcomed the initiative and expressed interest in future collaboration with the organization.
