ASEZ WAO Plastic Free 2040 Street Cleanup and Street Campaign

On December 1, 2024, ASEZ WAO declared its commitment to “Ending Plastic Pollution by 2040” and delivered a powerful message of action to the world through an environmental concert.
Following this declaration, ASEZ WAO members carried out street cleanups and plastic-free campaigns in 18 regions across Korea and around the world.

In Gwangalli, Busan, more than 600 young people came together to clean beaches and urban areas while raising public awareness about the seriousness of plastic pollution and the importance of taking action.
Participants from diverse backgrounds, including office workers, students, and international students, shared their personal commitments to environmental protection, and many citizens voluntarily joined by signing in support of the campaign.

Through these efforts, a total of approximately 8,120 pounds of plastic waste was collected, leading to an estimated reduction of about 28,426 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions.
ASEZ WAO will continue to take meaningful action toward ending plastic pollution.
