As the name implies, the new covenant Passover is the festival through which the disasters pass over. The efficacy of the new covenant Passover, which allows disasters to pass over, remains valid even today.
Unfortunately, many people do not seek to receive this sure promise. Of course, there may be reasons they find it hard to believe, but more accurately, it is because they are vaguely confident that such a disaster will not happen to them.
It was the same in the time of Noah. Even as Noah spent all those years building the huge ark, and even as it started to pour rain, the people of that time continued with their daily lives nonchalantly. They did not foresee that the rain would turn into a flood.
In this way, disasters are unpredictable. It is impossible to know perfectly when, where, and what kind of disasters will occur and to prepare for them accordingly. Of course, it is fortunate if we are lucky enough to survive in the midst of disasters, but isn’t it too dangerous and reckless to leave every moment to chance?
All humanity needs God’s sure promise. That promise is the new covenant Passover, through which disasters pass over.
