Why is it that humans live a time-limited life and die in the end?
“The wages of sin is death.”Ro 6:23
The Bible says that the reason we have to die is because of our sins.
If our sins deserving death is forgiven, though our bodies perish, our souls can live forever.
Then, how can we receive the forgiveness of sins?
“John (the Baptist) came, baptizing in the desert region and preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.”Mk 1:4-5
Jesus underwent baptism, the way to the forgiveness of sins, to set us an example. (Mt 3:13)
Baptism is the holy ceremony through which we can receive the forgiveness of sins and be reborn as children of God.
If then, when should we be baptized?
On realizing Christ, we should be baptized (Ac 16:13–15).
People were baptized even on the road (Ac 8:27–38) and at the late hour of night (Ac 16:25–33).
Why is it that the forefathers of our faith were baptized immediately as soon as they realized Christ?
It was because they believed God’s promise that their souls live forever though their bodies perish
if they receive the forgiveness of sins through baptism.
That is why baptism is performed in the name of the Savior who has authority to forgive sins and grant eternal life. (Mt 28:19)
Do you know the name of the Savior―the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit?
The name of the Father is Jehovah, and the name of the Son is Jesus.
Then what is the name of the Holy Spirit?
Those who are baptized in the name of Jehovah, of Jesus, and of Ahnsahnghong— the new name of Jesus and the Savior in the Age of the Holy Spirit—can receive the forgiveness of sins and eternal life (Rev 3:12).
