What Inspired the Early Church to Joyfully Embrace Hardships and Persecution?

Just like the members of the Church of God, who embraced Emperor Nero’s oppression and persecution with firm faith in God and hope for Heaven, we too should store up blessings in Heaven in order to live forever.

It is a wise life to live for eternal Heaven where there is no more death, pain, or grief, just like Apostle Paul who pressed on toward Heaven after seeing the third heaven, not like Judas Iscariot who chose to live for the moment, putting value on worldly desires.

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:17–18
