What Is the Trinity? The Trinity means that God the Father Jehovah, God the Son Jesus, and God the Holy Spirit are one God, not separate entities. In order to understand the meaning of the Trinity, let’s think about the changing states of water.
Water, ice, and vapor are different in form and name, but they all have the same substance [H2O]. Likewise, God appeared as the Savior in a different form and with a different name in each age, but the triune God is the same in substance.
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given . . . And he will be called . . . Mighty God, Everlasting Father . . .”Isa 9:6
The Bible testifies that Jesus, who was born as a baby, is Mighty God Jehovah (Isa 9:6). In other words, God the Father Jehovah and God the Son Jesus are one and the same. The apostles in the early Church understood the relationship between Jehovah and Jesus, and testified that Jesus was in very nature God.
“Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:Who, being in very nature God . . .”Php 2:5–9
When the New Testament was written, God was always referred to as God the Father Jehovah. The apostles taught that Jesus, who was by nature God the Father Jehovah, came as a man to save us (Ro 9:5).
“For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God”1 Co 2:11
No one knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit. Even so, no one knows the thoughts of God Almighty except the Spirit of God. The Bible testifies that the Holy Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
“But God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God”1 Co 2:10
“But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense [an advocate with the Father, KJV]—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One”1 Jn 2:1
The Bible testifies that Jesus is our Advocate. The word advocate comes from the Greek word parakletos (παράκλητος), which is translated as counselor. The Bible testifies that Jesus is the Counselor. The Bible also testifies that the Holy Spirit is the Counselor.
“But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things . . .”Jn 14:26
This proves that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one and the same. The Bible teaches us that God the Father Jehovah, God the Son Jesus, and God the Holy Spirit are one and the same.
The one God appeared in a different form with a different name for the work of salvation in each age.
If you believe in the Trinity, you will realize that God the Father Jehovah, God the Son Jesus, and God the Holy Spirit Ahnsahnghong are the same God with no distinction in work.
God the Father Jehovah who created all things, is God the Holy Spirit Ahnsahnghong. The Holy Spirit Ahnsahnghong divided the Red Sea to save Israel 3,500 years ago, and suffered on the cross to forgive us of our sins 2,000 years ago.
When He came to this earth, the saints of the early Church realized that God the Son Jesus was God the Creator, and so they received salvation. It is the same now. We hope you will receive salvation by realizing that the Holy Spirit Ahnsahnghong is God who created all things.
