Moses and the Israelites endured much suffering from the time they kept the Passover and left Egypt until they crossed the Red Sea. This was fulfilled by the affliction and suffering that Christ went through on the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which was the day after He kept the Passover.
The Feast of Unleavened Bread is a feast demonstrating the suffering of Christ, which is the reality of the Law of Moses in the Old Testament. In this age, God told us to participate in the suffering of Christ by fasting and to become perfect by overcoming all sufferings that each of us may go through.
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. Romans 8:16–18
