The Feast of Firstfruits celebrated in the time of Moses in the Old Testament was a shadow, and the Resurrection Day of the New Testament is the reality.
Jesus Christ was resurrected early in morning on the day after the Sabbath day, Sunday, as the firstfruits of those who had fallen asleep to fulfill the prophecy of the Feast of Firstfruits.
Therefore, it is God’s will that we keep the Sabbath Day (Saturday) as a weekly feast, and the Resurrection Day as an annual feast.
Satan placed mankind under the chain of death, making them undergo the agony of death; however, Jesus Christ came to this earth, breaking the power of death, and led people to the truth leading to eternal life through the Resurrection Day.
Nowadays, the members of the Church of God do not follow the pagan tradition of sharing eggs, but break bread that opens our spiritual eyes, following the example of Jesus Christ.
But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep ... in Christ all will be made alive. 1 Corinthians 15:20–22
