The disciples, who witnessed Jesus’ ascension from the Mount of Olives,
realised that without being clothed with the Holy Spirit of God,
the gospel could not be preached throughout the whole world.
Thus, they prayed earnestly for ten days from Ascension Day until the Day of Pentecost,
asking for the Holy Spirit of the former rain.
When Elijah defeated the 850 false prophets on Mount Carmel, prayer preceded the victory.
Jesus, Christ Ahnsahnghong, and God the Mother, who came to this earth for the salvation of mankind,
set an example by starting Their work of the gospel with early morning prayers every day.
Therefore, the members of the Church of God, too, start their day,
gaining spiritual strength through prayer.
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
Matthew 7:7–8
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer,
believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
Mark 11:24
