The first Ten Commandments Moses received were broken
because the Israelites worshipped the golden calf.
After the Israelites realised their sins and repented,
Moses came down with the second set of Ten Commandments
God granted them as a sign of forgiveness.
This became the origin of the Day of Atonement.
When a person commits a sin, that sin is temporarily transferred to God, the sanctuary,
and stays there until the Day of Atonement. After the high priest enters the Most Holy Place
and carries out the ritual of sprinkling blood, the sin is completely forgiven.
Similarly, today, without receiving the grace of Jerusalem, who is the Most Holy Place,
that is, God the Mother, no one can achieve the complete forgiveness of sins or salvation.
“When Aaron has finished making atonement for the Most Holy Place,
the tent of meeting and the altar, he shall bring forward the live goat.
He is to lay both hands on the head of the live goat and confess over it all the wickedness
and rebellion of the Israelites—all their sins—and put them on the goat’s head.
He shall send the goat away into the wilderness in the care of someone appointed for the task.
The goat will carry on itself all their sins to a remote place;
and the man shall release it in the wilderness.”
