If we break God’s promises and turn away from holiness and godliness, we become subject to judgment. Behind God’s judgment on the world—in the time of Noah, in Sodom and Gomorrah, and in this last age—lies a common thread: people abandoned God and became rebellious, wicked, and adulterous.
Today, like Noah, we must have firm faith in things not yet seen. Believing the prophecy of the Bible that God will judge the wicked world with fire, the Church of God preaches the new covenant Passover, which contains God’s promise to save the world from disasters.
By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. 2 Peter 3:6–7
“[I]t is the LORD’s Passover. . . . The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.” Exodus 12:11–13
